INDEPENDENCE DAY

Independence is a freedom to live and to choose; no bound. Again, every August 17^th, Indonesia celebrate The Independence Day, free from colony. People are happy to celebrate The Independence. It means people are happy when there’s nothing bound them.

Beside the nation independence, there are some kinds of independence :

1. Independence to dream and to reach your dream
2. Independence from drugs and alcohol
3. Independence from bad habit

Based on these kinds of independence, means everyone has their own independence day. When you are free to dream and reach your goal that’s your independence day. When you are free from drugs and alcohol, that’s your independence day. When you are free from any kinds of bad habits, that’s your independence day.

You must be grateful when you remember or celebrate your own independence day because nothing bound you anymore.

True Friend

(This is my Note in tough time)

There’s a statement about friendship : “True friend is like a shadow which follow you when you are under the light.” Do you agree with this statement? I don’t ! Because when the light goes out, the shadow is not exist anymore. A true friend should be exist in the light and in the darkness as well.

Many friends want to be with you when you are walking under the sunshine, but who wants to be with you in the dark cold stormy nights? Only a true friend who wants to be with you in the very low point of your life (when you fail; when you have no money; when you are ill; when you are nothing and there’s no one want to stand beside you).

The only one who wants to share in the sunshine and in the darkness is only Jesus. He is the true friend.

Time to Learn

My memory goes back to the time when I was a student. All the students used to bring along many books in their bags for there’s no locker at school. Some students sometimes complained to take the heavy bags in their back. They didn’t realized that they were in the process of learning. They didn’t see the benefits at that time. But now, when they are grown up and have a good carier plus a good position, they can see and feel the benefits of carrying many books in their bags.

In life, the perfect time to learn is when we have burden in our back. Maybe, we feel uncomfortable at first. We feel the burden is too heavy so we want to put down and walk without burden. If we want to put down the burden, we will lose chance to learn.

When I have many problems, I feel like I have a burden in my back. It made me weak. Then, I remember the sentence “take the yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.(matthew 11: 29 – 30).

There’s a power in a worship

(Note in tough time)

It is about 3 a.m . Suddenly I woke up and found my heart beated so fast (out of the normal beat). I had never experienced it before. It feels like my heart wanted to jump out of me. It was a fast and hard beat.

I said to God, “God, if it is the end of my life, let me sing for you for the last time. Then I sat on the floor, raised up my two hands, and started to sing. When I was singing, I didn’t focused on my heart which still beated so fast, but I focused on the worship. Suddenly, my heart beat was back to the normal.

I believe there’s a power in a worship. When we raise up our hand, our faith is raise up as well. On that time, we have the intimacy with God and the intimacy gives us a peace; a peace which this world can’t give. The peace heal our soul and makes us stronger.

Although I am not a singer or a worship leader, but I want to be loyal to worship God. If I can stand till now, that’s because of Jesus who gives me strength.

SURPRISE AND BACK TO BE SURPRISED

Dear Friends,

Did you ever get a surprise from someone? Or, You are the one who create a surprise for other people?

Surprise is made to make somebody feel pleasant by the unexpected thing that we give. We make a surprise for our friends, sister, brother, parents, colleague or partner in a certain event, such as birthday, mother or father day, Christmas, etc.

It is better to know the favorite thing of a person whom we want to give surprise. So, when she/he receive our surprise, she/he will not disappointed. If you can not make a big surprise, just a small surprise is good as well.

I am a person who like to make a small surprise. I did some small surprise for my friends. Sometimes, I send cards or giving cake for their birthday. So, if you are in my friend list and I have your address, maybe I will make a small surprise for you.

I sent my friend a birthday card. Fortunately, it arrived on her birthday. But, suddenly she came to my house at noon. Surprisingly, she brought me a nice cake. I made a surprise but I’m back to be surprised.

The benefit of a surprise

If you have a monotonous friendship or relationship, you need a little surprise to make it more colorful. A big or a small surprise is able to create a smile in people face. So, if you need to add other color in your friendship or relationship, go and get something for your friend or beloved one. Remember, don’t let she/he know it!

YOUR LIFE IS PRECIOUS

Dear Friends

Recently, the media often report the people who do suicide. In my country itself, the number of people who do suicide increase with different cause.

There was a woman aged 22 years old, doing suicide by jumping from 3^rd floor in a big mall. The cause is because she was ashamed. She was pregnant but the man didn’t want to marry her (responsible).

There was a man who hang himself in his apartment because he was fired from his company. There was a man who jumped from tall building because of broken heart.

There are some women who did suicide because of feeling lonely, through this life with meaningless.

Why these persons do suicide? Because they have problem and they consider the problems are too big for them ; the others feel life is meaningless. Is suicide be the solution for a big problem? Where are they after doing suicide?

“I have many problems, I had better die than life!” said a person. That’s life! As long as we live in this world, we will always deal with problems. If you never have problems, that’s will be a problem.

In the end, I suggest the people who want to do suicide to go to hospital. Then, try to find the patience who diagnosed a killing disease which the doctor state their lives only for a short time. Make a conversation with the patience, then you will know your life is precious. I guarantee, all of them want to live not die.
