A Future For Hezekiah

Everyone expect to have a bright future. A future with a better life and love. When everything goes on smooth in our life, we seem have no difficulties to face our future. But, when everything  goes on worse and worst in our life, it is difficult to see a bright future in front of us.

We can learn from Hezekiah, how he face his future when there is no hope. Who was Hezekiah? He was a king of Judah. He was a godly king. But one day, he had a problem for his future, that is NO FUTURE for him when he was ill.

Let's see 2 kings 20 

1)  In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, “This is what the Lord says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.”

In subsection 1, we can read that Hezekiah was ill. The Phrophet Isaiah delivered God message to Hezekiah that he was going to die. Can we imagine, if we are ill and we see a doctor. The doctor say that we are going to die (no hope). I am sure no one will be happy hearing this statement. Most of us surely cry with a broken heart, wept bitterly like Hezekiah did.

How  Hezekiah reacted when he knew he was going to die? Or what did he do when he knew there would not be a future for him in this world anymore?

Let's read subsection 2, 3

2) Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, ³ “Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

What can we learn from Hezekiah?

Hezekiah pray to God when there's no future he seen. In his prayer, he asked God to remember his faithfulness. He wanted to live but he surrender his life to God. 

When people say that there's no future for us, like :
You will not be heal.
You will always being poor.
You will not meet your soulmate.
You are not smart.
You will not be success.
You are ugly.
You don't have good background.   
Let us remember what Hezekiah did, he prayed to God.

When we pray, when we cry to God. He promise he will answer us (Jeremiah 33:3 -  ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ ). And, God answer Hezekiah. (Subsection 4-6)

⁴⁾ Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the Lord came to him: ⁵⁾ “Go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the Lord. ^{6 )}I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David."

God answer Hezekiah prayer and even give other goodnesses  for him :

1. God would heal Hezekiah ( subsection 5)

2. God adds fifteen years to Hezekiah life (Subsection 6)

3. God deliver Hezekiah and the city from the hand of the king of Assyria, or giving the victory, or freedom (subsection 6)

For us, if we cried out to God, God promise to show the great things for us as his word in Jeremiah 33 : 3 - ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’. When we see there's no future for us, come to God and pray to him.

MASA DEPAN UNTUK HIZKIA

Setiap orang mengharapkan mendapatkan masa depan yang cerah. Sebuah masa depan dengan cinta dan kehidupan yang lebih baik. Ketika segala sesuatunya berjalan dengan lancar di kehidupan kita, kita tamapk tidak memiliki kesulitan memandang masa depan kita.Tetapi, ketika segala sesuatunyaberjalan dengan buruk dan bahkan semakin buruk, kita tidak bisa melihat masa depan yang cerah di depan kita.

Kita dapat belaqjar dari Hizkia, bagaimana ia menghadapi masa depannya ketika sama sekali tidak ada harapan. Siapakah Hizkia? Ia adalah seorang raja Yehuda. Ia seorang raja yang takut akan Tuhan. Tapi suatu hari ia mempunyai masalah dalam menghadapi masa depannya, yaitu TIDAK ADA MASA DEPAN LAGI untuknya ketika ia jatuh sakit.

Mari kita baca 2 raja - raja 20 :1-6
1) Pada hari-hari itu Hizkia jatuh sakit dan hampir mati. Lalu datanglah nabi Yesaya bin Amos, dan berkata kepadanya: "Beginilah firman TUHAN: Sampaikanlah pesan terakhir kepada keluargamu, sebab engkau akan mati, tidak akan sembuh lagi."

Dalam ayat 1 kita bisa melihat bahwa Hizkia sedang sakit. Nabi Yesaya menyampaikan pesan Tuhan kepadanya bahwa ia akan mati. Bisakah kita bayangkan ketika kita sakit, lalu kita mengunjungi dokter dan dokter bilang kita akan mati karena tidak ada harapan lagi. Saya yakin tak seorang pun yang akan bahagia mendengar pernyataan dokter ini. Pastilah kita akan menangis dengan hati yang hancur atau menangis tersedu - sedu seperti yang dilakukan Hizkia.

Lalu, apa reaksi Hizkia ketika ia tahu kalau ia akan mati? Atau Apa yang dilakukan Hizkia ketika ia tahu tidak ada masa depan lagi baginya di bumi?
Mari kita lihat ayat 2 dan 3 : 

2) Lalu Hizkia memalingkan mukanya ke arah dinding dan ia berdoa kepada TUHAN:   3)  "Ah TUHAN, ingatlah kiranya, bahwa aku telah hidup di hadapan-Mu dengan setia dan dengan tulus hati dan bahwa aku telah melakukan apa yang baik di mata-Mu." Kemudian menangislah Hizkia dengan sangat.

Apakah yang bisa kita pelajari dari Hizkia?
Hizkia berdoa kepada Tuhan ketika ia sama sekali tidak melihat masa depannya. Di dalam doanya, dia meminta Tuhan untuk mengingat kesetiaannya. Ia ingin hidup tetapi ia menyerahkan keputusannya kepada Tuhan.
Ketika orang - orang berkata kepada kita bahwa tidak ada masa depan lagi, seperti :
Kau tidak akan sembuh.
Kau akan selalu menjadi orang miskin.
Kau tidak akan bertemu pasanganmu
kau tidak pintar
Kau tidak akann sukses
Kau jelek.
Latar belakang keluargamu tidak baik.
Mari, ingat apa yang telah dilakukan Hizkia, dia berdoa pada Tuhan.

Ketika kita berdoa, ketika kita menangis kepada Tuhan. Ia berjanji ia akan menjawab kita (Yeremia 33:3). Dan Tuhan menjawab Hizkia (ayat 4 - 6)
4) Tetapi Yesaya belum lagi keluar dari pelataran tengah, tiba-tiba datanglah firman TUHAN kepadanya: 5)"Baliklah dan katakanlah kepada Hizkia, raja umat-Ku: Beginilah firman TUHAN, Allah Daud, bapa leluhurmu: Telah Kudengar doamu dan telah Kulihat air matamu; sesungguhnya Aku akan menyembuhkan engkau; pada hari yang ketiga engkau akan pergi ke rumah TUHAN. 6)Aku akan memperpanjang hidupmu lima belas tahun lagi dan Aku akan melepaskan engkau dan kota ini dari tangan raja Asyur; Aku akan memagari kota ini oleh karena Aku dan oleh karena Daud, hamba-Ku."

Tuhan menjawab Hizkia, bahkan memberikan berkat - berkat lainnya :
1) Tuhan akan menyembuhkan HIzkia (ayat 5)
2) Tuhan menambahkan umur lima belas tahun lagi pada Hizkia (ayat  6)
3) Tuhan akan melepaskan Hizkia dan kotanya dari tangan raja Asyur, atau memberikan kemenangan atau kebebasan. (ayat 6)

Untuk kita, Jika kita berseru kepada Tuhan, Tuhan berjanji akan memberitahukan kita hal - hal yang besar seperti firmannya dalam Yeremia 33 : 3. Ketika kita tidak melihat masa depan untuk kita, mari kita berdoa pada Tuhan.

I am sure we are agree with Shania Twain. Smart, good looking or rich persons could not impress us much if they do not have a touch to us, a touch in our heart. We need someone who can touch us in friendship or relationship.

Smart, good looking and wealthy are not enough without a touch in heart. How to become a person who have a touch ? Firstly, have a good heart, the heart who always want to share love and help people. When we have the touch, we will be able to stay in a cold long lonely night with other people. And, i think we all need a person who can stay with us in a cold long lonely night.

Indonesia produce Arabica coffee, robusta coffee, and civet and luwak coffee. The coffee from Indonesia is one of the the most tasty coffee in this world. That is why some famous Coffee Houses import coffee beans from Indonesia, such as Starbucks and Excelso.

How the Indonesians enjoy their coffee?

From the past time time nowadays, Indonesians still enjoying drinking black coffee. Even though, there are cappuccino, moccacino, chochocino, etc. The black coffee never dies. You can see many Indonesians enjoy  the black coffee alongside the street. The most  unique coofee which I ever see in Indonesia is Joss Coffee. The coffee is served by putting a charcoal heat on it. It produces sounds Joss, therefore the name is called Joss Coffee.

THE MOST DELICIOUS FOOD

West Sumatra caramelized beef curry or is known as Rendang becomes the most delicious food in the world according to CNN.com Survey.

Who doesn’t know Rendang? Everyone in Indonesia knows Rendang. Rendang is one of nasional food in Indonesia. It serves in special occations, like in wedding celebration and religious events(Idul Fitri and Christmas). You can also taste Rendang in every Indonesian food Restaurant in Indonesi as well as in abroad. This spicy meat can unite the Indonesians who live in different islands.

What is Rendang? Rendang is orriginally food from West Sumatra.The taste of spices and ginger in your tongue makes you addicted.

Rendang is made of beef mix with the other ingridients; ground spices paste, which include ginger,galangal, turmeric leaves, lemon grass,garlic, shallot, chillies, and other spices. All these ingridients being cooked with coconut milk for three or four hours. After four hours, all the spices and coconut milk has absobed to the meat. It is ready to served. Delicious! It is one of my favourite food.

Call His Name

“When you are afraid to walk at night, call Jesus name.”

“When you can not sleep or when you want to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, call Jesus name.

“When you are afraid of anything, call Jesus name.

“When you call Jesus, you will not be afraid anymore, you will not feel alone anymore and everything will be alright.

Those are the advices from my primary teacher. I was surprise firstly hearing those advices. It was a good news for me because I will not be alone anymore. It means I always have a friend when I am afraid, alone and can not sleep.

I practiced it when I was nine years old. I was afraid anytime going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. At one night, I was going to the bathroom and all the rooms in my house were dark. As a child, I was afraid if a ghost appear in front of me. “Jesus, please accompany me because I am afraid,” I said. Suddenly, the afraid feeling disappear. From that day, I believe in Jesus name.

Now…. I’m growing up

I ever being in afraid, alone and can not sleep even more than that

Because of the the the dark way in my life, it’s like no hope, no future

I remember “ Jesus name ”

I call him JESUS

I call him JESUS

Then, I feel peacefull ; no fear, no darkness

Because I am not alone

Because He is besides me, the dark disappear

Only the light which shine on me

If till now, I still can breathe

It’s because of your blessing, My Lord

STRONG MENTALLY OR STRONG PHYSICALLY?

A man told me "I am strong. Many women like strong man, right?"

I smiled. Then i said, "So you are strong physically or mentally?"

He was quite for a moment, thinking of my questions. " I have both," he said.

If you have strong mentally, you will not drink alcohol or even till you drunk," i said.

"I only drink it for fun," he said.

For fun? Yes, for fun because you don't feel fun in the real life. Now, see this two men.

Suddenly, a headmaster of Junior high school became a center of attention. He appeared in the news.

This man had another job beside being a headmaster at school. He was a garbage collector. After teaching at school, the man went to the garbage and find the things which still can be sold.

For some years, he did this job only for getting fund for his wife who suffered from cancer. People were touched for what he had done. He is a headmaster but he is not shy at all to be a garbage collector. But finally, some institutions helped him and he got all fund for his wife. Now, his wife heals from cancer. This man has a strong mentally and physically.

In the other story, in my neighbour, there are a man whose wife suffered from cancer. What did this man do? He went with another woman while his wife struggled to fight cancer.

When people asked him, “Why do you go with another woman while your wife sick?”

Then the man answered, “Let her like that! I’m healthy so I deserve to enjoy my life.”

Many days ago, his wife was died. This man has a strong physically but not mentally.

When people have a strong mentally, they can stand to face every problems in their lives. They keep doing the good thing. When they have strong mentally, they also strong physically. But, the people who are only strong physically, doesn’t mean they are strong in mentally as well.

Soldier, Athlete and Farmer

As a christian, we need to have the attitude of these three professions.

Soldier – Faithful, obedience and ready to be in suffering.

We should be faithful to God in living this life, like a soldier who faithful to his commanding officer. Although the soldier suffer in a war, he still be loyal to his Master. He still obey h is master rules without any comment.

~ Sometimes we are suffering in this world because of our problem or because of our commitment to God. Be strong and faithful like a soldier.

Athlete – discipline to practice and following the competition rule.

An athlete should be discipline to practice and have to join the competition following the rules to receive the Victor’s crown.

~ We should practice our faith and ready to compete everyday; following the Bible as the rules so we can be the winner.

Farmer – work hard

A farmer work hard is a field, and after that having the harvest time.

We should work hard in God field . It is not only for the people who involved in church service but for all people who believe in Christ.
